"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." "You must be the change you want to see in the world." "To believe in something, and not to live it, is dishonest." "When restraint and courtesy are added to strength, the latter becomes irresistible." "It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. Hello Parents and Teachers -- February brings to mind valentines...love...hearts. Did you know that the heart is the ancient Chinese symbol for the mind? There is a huge connection between our heart and our mind. Our thoughts generate feelings that drive our life. Our thoughts have an impact on our health, even influencing our immune system. When we parent consciously and lovingly -- with our heart and mind in alignment -- we not only experience deeper connections with our children but more cooperation as well. This month, we will focus on becoming leaders and builders of self-esteem ... encouraging parents who guide our children. There are learning opportunities on both topics in February, so join us in a course or teleseminar. Read words of wisdom from Gandhi, a leader who taught non-violence and compassion. Enjoy your journey toward greater leadership. Wishing You Well -- Maggie |

| On Jan 30, 1948, Mohandas Gandhi died in Delhi, India at age 78, after being assassinated by a young Hindu fanatic. At his death, he was one of the most powerful moral voices in world history. Reflecting on Gandhi's life, Albert Einstein said, "Generations to come . . . will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth." Years earlier, Gandhi was given the nickname "Mahatma" (meaning "Great Soul") by the poet laureate of India, Rabindranath Tagore. And a great soul he was, known the world over for his small, slender physique, ascetic attire, incredible courage, and commitment to nonviolence. Here are a but a few of Gandhi's powerful "Words to Live By." |
