United Through Reading®
Military Program
Reading Together Unites Families

RCB South Florida is assisting David Hammerschmidt, stationed in
Afghanistan, with his project
United Through Reading.  The United Through
Reading® Military Program helps ease the stress of separation for military
families by having deployed parents read children’s books aloud via DVD for
their child to watch at home.

On his third tour of duty in the Middle East, David leads a team of over 80
paratroopers.  In addition to leading his company and training the Afghan
army, David has made United Through Reading® a priority so that deployed
moms and dads stay connected to their families back home.  As the father of
three, David knows the value of this program.

David is in need of children's books for infants through teens, mini DVD-R's,
jewel cases and mailers (8 X 11" padded).

After the United through Readin
g® program is complete, all children's books
will be donated to orphanages in Afghanistan.
